Licking some sultry lip-smacking chocolate syrup followed by a warm bite on a crispy and fluffy fritter where a soft chunk of ripe banana hidden inside that melts in your mouth. Sounds like something sinful and devilish, doesn’t it? Try this sweet banana fried in a thick batter with a twist of fennel seeds that burst into your mouth in each bite. This is my version of a combination of Assamese Tel Pitha and Kerala’s Pazham Pori, lavishly drizzled with oozing chocolate syrup to feed your inner child. Step 1: Except bananas and oil, mix all the above ingredients in a mixing bowl and add water to make a thick batter. Cut the bananas in one-inch size. Meanwhile, heat oil in a deep pan or kadhai for frying.
Step 2: Take one piece of banana, deep it into the batter. Use a wooden stick or fork that can hold it. Make sure all sides are coated with the batter properly. Drop it into the hot oil and fry all sides in low flame until it turns golden brown. Fry all banana pieces in batches and keep them on a plate. Use tissue papers to absorb the extra oil.
Step 3: Drizzle with a generous amount of chocolate syrup over the fried bananas, use some colourful sprinkles to decorate, and serve it hot.
